You may be wondering, “Why do we need another scripture study app?”

For decades I have enjoyed studying the scriptures and feasting on the words of living and past prophets and Church leaders. I looked forward to every general conference session of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I loved serving the members of my local congregation.

In mid-2026 I was diagnosed with a health condition that significantly changed my life. For several months I struggled to walk and to speak. I suddenly found myself staring at an open page of scripture, unable to comprehend anything I was trying to read. While listening to general conference, all I could hear were words — I could no longer understand what was being said. At church, the organ music and being among a congregation became overwhelming and brought on functional seizures.

I felt robbed of some of the most important parts of my spiritual and social life.

I went to many doctors and therapists. They were kind, and they tried everything they could think of. It was a disheartening day when my specialist told me, “There is nothing more I can do for you.”

My wife fasted and prayed for me every week for many months.

One day I received a prompting from the Holy Spirit to create a system and apps that might help me — and others — understand the scriptures and the words of the prophets again.

Manna Expert was born.

Somehow it has worked. The podcast-style episodes, the simplified scripture narrations, the daily songs and inspirational thoughts — all of it connected together and pointing straight back to the Come Follow Me lessons, the scriptures, and the authoritative words of the Prophets, Apostles, and other Church leaders and scholars — has helped me understand the scriptures once again.

I have felt the hand of the Lord guide me in creating this instrument. It should never supplant the holy scriptures or the words of the Prophets and Apostles. It is a study companion, meant to help gather us back to the Savior Jesus Christ.

I have created and maintain Manna Expert as a free gift to the world, so that others who face learning challenges may also find help through this companion.

May you find peace through daily partaking of the spiritual manna given freely by an ever-caring Father in Heaven, through His Son, Jesus Christ, and through the still, small promptings of the Holy Spirit.
